The Wine & Spirit Education Trust  (WSET) is a British organisation that arranges courses and exams in the field of wine and spirits. WSET is generally regarded as one of the world’s leading provider of wine education. The courses organised by WSET provide internationally recognised qualifications for Wine Industry professionals and enthusiastic amateurs. The courses are all examined and certificated within the QCF (Qualification and Credit Framework) by the government.


The Level 2 Award in Wines  is a course designed for anyone wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of wines.  It is particularly recommended to equip those employed around the world in the wine and/or spirits industry to make informed decisions in a wide variety of trade situations and for wine collectors or wine enthusiasts who wish to build upon your current knowledge in order to recognize varied wines around the world and the ability to access their quality. You will acquire a thorough understanding of the factors influencing the style, quality and price of wines from key wine producing regions of the world. You will also develop analytical tasting skills using the systematic approach to tasting, your blind tasting skills will form part of the examinations.

The Level 2 course is the middle qualification out of five that WSET offers and provide the knowledge required for those wishing to progress on to the Diploma Level 4 and Masters of Wine studies, where globalization and marketing of wine in addition to in-depth wine theory is studies as well.

Lectures, material and exams are provided in Russian.
